Ace in the Hand are a 3 piece band from Sheffield built around the virtuoso guitar playing of Alex Oliver (cousin of Saxon's Graham Oliver). We are all very experienced musicians who got together about 3 years ago to perform and entertain while also enjoying ourselves.
Unlike other gigging bands whose sets appear to be random selections of songs we like to market ourselves utilising different concepts around which we have developed ‘shows’ that are easy for venues and their customers to grasp and know what to expect from us.
These can be summarised as
1) The "60’s Rock Show"
2) The "Guitar Heroes Tribute Show "
3) The "All Originals Set"
as illustrated via the posters below
We have invested in pro-quality instruments and gear, have a 1300w PA system and use an in-ear monitoring system on stage. Although powerful we use our equipment to produce a clear and quality sound rather than a deafening cacophony. Where required, at larger venues, we bring our own sound engineer and can also provide a professional lighting rig and operator when it’s needed and can be budgeted for.
